The Broker - What It Is
TabTrade launched in March 2026. Trading platform registered in Saint Lucia, under the FSRA. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection tells you something. It says the person running this is not figuring it out from scratch. Does not guarantee anything. Still more reassuring than a founder with no industry background.
They launched with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres institutional desks use. Usually a new brokerage leads with marketing and bonuses. Tab Trade did the opposite. Unusual for a new broker.
The instrument list: forex, indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. 1,000+. For a platform that is a few months old, that range is broad.
The Software
Available: MT5, cTrader, and a WebTrader. Both platforms from the same login. A lot of brokers pick one platform. Having both makes a difference. You are not locked into one.
MT5 is the industry standard. Complete charts, automated trading, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have used a MetaQuotes platform before, it is familiar territory.
cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Faster charting. Native automated trading. Many people prefer it after using both.
FIX API is offered for algo traders but needs the VIP account ($25,000 to open). TradingView is apparently on the roadmap. That will make the platform set when it arrives.
What You Pay
Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. Spreads from 1.0 pips. Commission-free. Easy to track. $0 to start. Works for beginners.
Edge. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 each way. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. So your actual cost per trade can be below 0.5 pips. That is hard to beat for a broker with no minimum deposit. Most brokers that have spreads this tight ask for $500 or $1,000 upfront. This broker does not.
VIP. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, faster fills, tailored rates. Not relevant to most retail traders. Ignore this one unless you trade institutionally.
How Fast Are the Fills
The execution is the area where Tab Trade separates from most new launches. Equinix servers in London. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. That is not marketing fluff. The average platform operate at a much wider range.
Should you care? If you scalp, yes. The difference between fast execution and sluggish execution is profit or loss on tight trades. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. The point is the setup is serious. That is what kind of broker this is.
Combine that execution speed with 0.0 pip spreads and $7 round-turn and the overall offering makes sense. Few brokers at this price point offer execution like this.
The FSRA Question
Here is the part that matters. Tab Trade is under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is tier-3. No FCA. No fund protection scheme. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a problem for you, look elsewhere. Lots of tier-1 alternatives out there.
However. The founder built his career at BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The server placement costs real money. Fly-by-night platforms do not invest in Equinix connectivity. This does not guarantee anything. It does be part of how you think about it.
The trade-off: no FCA or ASIC safety net. In exchange: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether the trade-off is worth it depends on you.
